The Insight Fountain has specalised in designing, conducting and analysing online research for over 15 years and can provide expert professional resource as a virtual extension to your team.
Becky Lewis has 20 years market research experience and an excellent understanding and knowledge of research strategies, methodologies, analysis and interpretation.
Becky graduated from the University of Exeter with a BA (Society Economy and Social Policy) and a MA (Applied Population Research). Becky is a Certified (full) member of the MRS and member of the Independent Consulting Group (ICG).
She currently works as a freelance Insight Consultant offering director level resource. She has strong project management skills from conception through delivery to implementation. Becky has worked with clients across several sectors, notably Finance & Pensions, Youth & Education, Housing & Development and the Third Sector. She has always had a strong focus on online research, vehemently championing good practice in a growing market.
She is an Academy Associate at the Research Academy tutoring on the MRS Advance Certificate and Diploma courses.
Previously Becky was Research Director at YouthSight (2006-2013) a full-service agency and access panel specialising in young people, students and young professionals. She was responsible for overseeing design and delivery of all research projects as well as managing and training the research team. Qualitative and quantitative research was carried out predominately online. Clients included brands (Red Bull, RBS, Barclays), government (Ofsted, BIS, YPLA, Student Loans Company) and many universities.
Becky worked in the Insight team at London Underground (2003-2006) where she managed ad hoc surveys, the Mystery Shopping Survey and Customer Satisfaction Survey. Strategic use and promotion of Insight - “Voice of the customer”. Responsible for: consolidation of customers’ attitudes, needs and desires; disseminating the insight throughout the business from station staff to board; and ensuring strategy was grounded with customer insight. Commissioned and managed numerous ad hoc and continuous research projects including Mystery Shopping and Customer Satisfaction Survey. This included reviewing processes and ensuring surveys were fit for purpose and met various stakeholders (across TfL and the Infracos) needs.
Prior to that, Becky worked in the Social Division at BMRB (1999-2003) where she worked on a range of face to face, telephone, postal and online surveys. Her clients included The Home Office, The Competition Commission and charities such as Oxfam and Save the Children. Her key projects for the Home Office included the Home Office Citizenship Survey, the Crime and Criminal Justice Survey and the British Crime Survey.

Campus Living Village Online quantitative survey to 10,000+ residents in their student accommodation about their perceptions and experience. Survey is optimised for mobile as over half the participants take the survey in this way. Carried out in 2015 and 2016. In-depth insight and reporting.
Working in partnership with Ashworth Research for an aid charity – Testing concepts with young adults to increase engagement with charity. Research was conducted using online focus groups. Recommendations were made as to the propositions most likely to succeed.
Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) – Digital users needs and expectations survey. Twenty paired interviews with members, attendees and potential audiences plus group interviews with school pupils and teachers. Debrief and report highlighting key themes for digital engagement and retention with current and new audiences.
Royal Horticulture Society (RHS) – Creative workshops with secondary school pupils and teachers investigating career choice and planning. Debrief and report offering recommendations and guidance for raising profile of horticulture careers.
Universities UK – Analysis of 140 written responses from stakeholders contributing to a review into part time undergraduate study. The review was carried out by Universities UK and published online.
